Crime Free Housing Classes
All rental property in
the Village must be licensed. In addition, property owners must
attend a crime free housing class at the EP police department, 7420
Fullerton.In order to keep your certification current, property
owners are required to attend this class every three years.
Also, please make note
that all properties, six units and above are required to utilize a
crime free lease addendum or have a clause in all leases which
contains the same information.

St. Cyprian School invites community
members to join in their 5th annual Walk-a-thon event on Saturday,
May 19, 2012. This 3 mile walk through River Grove begins and ends
at St. Cyprian School located at 2561 Clinton Street in River Grove.
The Walk-a-thon begins at 9:00 a.m. RAIN or SHINE - with participant
registration beginning at 8:00 a.m.
Our honorary co-chairs, the Class of 1966, will lead the
Olympics-themed walk and ?Carry A Torch For St. Cyprian School?.
Prior to and following the walk, participants may enjoy
complimentary refreshments including sub sandwiches and Italian
sausage from The Original Nottoli & Son Italian Deli. Walkers can
earn a Gold, Silver, or Bronze medal by collecting the largest
financial contributions toward our $20,000 goal.

Flood Mitigation Study
Below is the presentation of the
Flood Mitigation Study that was shown at the village board meeting
yesterday.
The American Cancer
Society Relay For Life of Elmwood Park/River Grove held its annual
kick-off event on Feb. 6 at the Elmwood Park Library.
Relay For Life is an
overnight event where teams of local businesses, schools, churches,
community groups and families build awareness and raise funds -
prior to and at the event - to fight cancer. While the main
objective of Relay For Life is to raise money for cancer research
and cancer patients, the event helps spread cancer awareness,
celebrate the lives of survivors, remember those who lost their
lives to cancer and unite a community in the fight against cancer.
This year's American
Cancer Society Relay For Life of Elmwood Park/River Grove will be
held June 15-16 at Elmwood Park High School.
Volunteers are needed
to organize and recruit teams, secure community support, coordinate
logistics, obtain refreshments and prizes, assist with publicity and
plan entertainment activities for this exciting and energizing
event.
Teams may register
on-line anytime, and anyone is welcome to participate. Informational
Team Meetings will be held at the Elmwood Park Library at 7:00pm on
April 2nd, May 7th, and June 4th.
Summer Concerts
Below is the lineup for the Summer
Concert Series coming to Elmwood Park. The Concerts taking place at
Central Park (75th Avenue & Fullerton Avenue) and start promptly at
7:00PM.

Aquatic Center Information
The Elmwood Park Aquatic Center is getting
closer to another year. Below is the information on the pool this
year.
Elmwood Park residents can no longer throw
away electronics (televisions,VCR's,video game consoles) into their
regular garbage.
The village has set up a drop off location for
these kind of items and it is located at the Public Works Facility.
The address is, 7330 W. Fullerton and the service is no charge to
residents.

Elmwood Park Smart Phone Application
The Village of Elmwood Park is introducing
another way of keeping in contact with their residents. The Elmwood
Park application is now available on the App Store by searching for
Village of Elmwood Park, or by clicking
here. The iPhone app was created at no
cost to taxpayers and is very easy to submit a question to the
Village staff as well as sending information to Village Hall.
"This will be truly interactive and help the
village become even more responsive to the needs of our residents",
said Mayor Peter Silvestri.
The new app will have a Twitter Feed
and a "connect" feature which allows users to
snap a photo and send it directly to Village Hall.

Warming Center Information
The Village has designated two areas
as warming centers if severe weather does occur.
The primary warming center is the
Public Safety Building, located at 7420 Fullerton Avenue and the

The secondary warming center will be
the Elmwood Park Parks and Recreation building located at 2 Conti
Parkway and the phone number is (708) 452-3935.
Veterans Honor Wall
Leyden Township is in the process of
constructing a Veterans Honor Wall at the Town Hall. The
dedication ceremony for the Honor Wall is Sunday, November 11th,
2012 and a time has yet to be finalized.. If you would like to
submit a veterans name for the wall please follow the
